Boston Summer Couples Photos | Boston Photographer

Max & I made a spontaneous trip to Boston at the end of the summer for his work. I knew I wanted to photograph a couple while I was there so I started reaching out to photographers based in the Boston area. I wanted a couple that knew all the best photo locations in the city and a photographer seemed like the best people to ask!

I reached out to different photographers for days leading up to our trip and got so many no’s – out of town, already booked, recently had photos taken, no responses – until I reached out to Kyla. Kyla & Dillon are wedding photographers in the Boston area and had not been photographed professionally since their wedding SIX years ago. They were so happy to jump in front of my camera and show me around the city they love so much! Check out their website here… Kyla Shattuck Photography.

We talked about locations around Boston and decided to start on the iconic Commonwealth Avenue. The original building we wanted to photograph in front of was under construction so we had to change our plan. We just started walking and looking for magical lighting! And we found that spot!

Our plan was to finish up the session over in the Beacon Hill neighborhood and see if we could snag a few photos on Acorn Street. When we arrived at Acorn Street, there were tourists everywhere and a car parked in the middle of the street. So, we had to pivot again! We snagged a few iconic crossing the street photos in the Beacon Hill area and then headed to a spot that Kyla & Dillon suggested – the sunset over the Charles River Esplanade. The evening was coming to a close and the sun was setting fast. As we were heading towards the Esplanade, I spotted a tiny dock on the water with sailboats in the background. Kyla & Dillon were happy to trust my vision and the blue hour light. I’m so glad we found this spot!

Kyla & Dillon, you guys are amazing and so sweet! Thank you for trusting me to capture your photos and walking all over Boston with me. Hope to see you guys again soon!
