Family Portraits at Tanglewood Park in Winston Salem, North Carolina

Extended Family Portraits at Tanglewood Park

This is the second time I’ve had Hannah & Josh in front of my camera. The first time, they brought along their two golden retrievers which was so much fun! With two golden retrievers at home, it made my heart happy. The second time, Hannah reached out to me to let me know they were adding to their family. Their summer maternity photos were an absolute dream. Click here to see their summer maternity session at Reynolda Gardens.

This time, Hannah & Josh brought along their parents and siblings for an extended family session. We decided on mid-August at Tanglewood Park. Next to Reynolda Gardens, the Tanglewood Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is one of my favorite places to photograph. The sun sits behind the Manor House and creates stunning, dreamy lighting in the gardens.

We were gifted with perfect weather for this family session! August is normally HOT in North Carolina but it was a beautiful, mild temperature evening. Josh’s brother was leaving for college that evening, so we had to get the session done! There wasn’t an option for rescheduling! The evening ended up being perfect!

Tanglewood Park Photography

Tanglewood Park is a great place for your family portraits, engagement session, or your wedding! It has many diverse locations and backgrounds. It gives you many options to choose from based on your vision for your session. There is a historical white Manor House that boasts 19th century architecture for an elegant backdrop for timeless engagement photos. The Manor House is also a hotel that offers different room options including a guest house for seven and lakeside cottages. They offer golf packages, tennis packages, and relaxation retreats. The arboretum and botanical gardens are situated behind the manor house. They are beautiful year round and offer a natural  background for your family or engagement session. We can take a stroll through the gardens at sunset to multiple different spots as the sun peeks through behind you to create the perfect lighting. Tanglewood Park also has trails that are cared for by park staff that are perfect for fall sessions because they showcase the autumn leaf colors. The park is also home to horses so there are barns, both white and red! If you lean towards an open field vibe for your photos, Tanglewood has multiple fields that are beautiful at sunset. Tanglewood has everything you could dream of!

Newborn Family Photos in Winston Salem

One of my favorite parts of this family session was at the end when I got Hannah, Josh, and baby Riley to myself for a few newborn family photos. We found a beautiful archway and re-made a sweet photo of Hannah from her maternity session at Reynolda Gardens. This time, she has Riley in her arms! This was an extra special moment.

Here are my favorites from their session below!
